Malia Luzzi, RYT 500
Registered Yoga Teacher
Malia’s journey with movement began in childhood through dance, which laid the foundation for her deep connection with yoga. She took her first ever yoga class in 2014 at the age of 14 and it quickly became an integral part of her life. In 2017, Malia earned her 200-hour certification from the American Yoga Academy in Summit, NJ, marking the start of her professional journey.
Continuing her pursuit of mastery, in the spring of 2023 Malia began studying with the Bohemia School of Yoga in Long Beach Island, NJ, working towards completing her 300-hour certification under the guidance of Katie Ribsam, Loren Baker, and Liz Stoelker. She has since gained specialized knowledge in Ashtanga yoga, aerial yoga, yin, restorative, aerial yoga, eco-yoga, pranayama, and hand-ons assists of asana poses for her students, offering a unique blend of styles in her classes.
Malia’s teaching repertoire includes invigorating power vinyasa, dynamic yoga sculpt, and calming gentle slow flow sessions (and aerial and beach yoga when possible!). She prioritizes creating a welcoming and inclusive environment, ensuring that all students feel comfortable, supported, and empowered. Her classes are a space for reflection, letting go, and exploring new possibilities with joy, curiosity, and compassion.

“I love this class! It’s a perfect balance of breathing, getting ready to move, then a steady sequence of great postures that work the whole body, then some balancing to really work the core and the mind, and inversions before we rest. The music is perfectly paired with the energy of the flow, and Malia’s beautiful soft voice and gentle guidance makes everyone feel welcome, regardless of your level or flexibility. Highly recommend this practice to kick start a great day! - SM

What is a challenge in your own yoga practice?
A challenge I have presently in my practice is consistency. The last five months have been the toughest challenge for me in balancing work, school, life, and my practice. Ever since I started practicing 12 years ago, this is the most distant I have felt in my practice. When I have had the rare chances to reconnect to my practice, it feels like coming home and reminding me of my true self again.
What is something you’ve learned about yourself from teaching yoga?
Something I have learned about myself from teaching yoga is that when I’m feeling lost, I can always find myself again in my practice. Whether it is on the mat or off, bringing my mind back to yoga, back to my breath, back to the present moment, I am there. Even in times where I feel disconnected, with the practice of yoga I am never too far. Yoga is everywhere, yoga is everything, you are yoga, I am yoga.
What about teaching lights you up the most?
Having the space to share what I love lights me up the most. I share what I love, what makes me like I can fly, what brings me the most grounding, what makes me feel connected to myself and to the universe around us. Having the privilege of being able to share those feelings and practices with other yogis and watching the magic of yoga happen to them and light them up is a gift.
